Height & Happiness

If you provide some happiness, some comfort to others, then your life becomes meaningful. If your life creates problems or suffering to others, then there is no meaning to your existence - Reader's Digest , July 2003

This is what I read from Greg Mankiw's blog about height and happiness ( a correlation?)

The latest research from Angus Deaton and Raksha Arora (via Kevin Denny):
According to the Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index daily poll of the US, taller people live better lives, at least on average. They evaluate their lives more highly, and they are more likely to report a range of positive emotions such as enjoyment and happiness. They are also less likely to report a range of negative experiences, like sadness, and physical pain, though they are more likely to experience stress and anger, and if they are women, to worry. These findings cannot be attributed to different demographic or ethnic characteristics of taller people, but are almost entirely explained by the positive association between height and both income and education, both of which are positively linked to better lives.

Assalamua'laikum, Dear Azuriy,

In my opinion, we should be thankful (syukur)and proud of what Allah has created us to be.

Beware and careful of what 'Yahudi' is doing and planning. After reading few research articles and attending few 'ceramah', this is all about 'Yahudi's' plot to the world for their own benefit. They who actually always trying to convince the world to believe that they are the best people created by god and thus, only them can govern the world. They actually created such comparisons where, white people is more beautiful than black or colored, taller people is better than those who are short, western people are better than others, etc etc. To me, those comparisons are all focusing to their physical characteristic. Do you know what Sis?, they even would 'reject' their own people if the person does not have such 'characteristic'.

'Taller people live better lives'; It is very subjective. I wonder, should the tallest person in the world has the best lives?! Let us be ourselves. In Islam, one of the 'ikhtiar' to have better lives is to honestly 'help' others and be kind to other creatures of Allah (at least by giving them a smile).

Wallahua'lam. That's only my opinion Sis. I-lal-li-qa' was-sa-la-mah.
