During the first week of the new year I thought I was going to write a review about my achievement/non achievement in 2009 but what I did was too busy writing a totally wrong literature review.
The starting of year 2010 was thought to be a good start for me. I met with my future SV (future because he haven't sign the form saying I will by supervised by him). He asked me what was area of my interest. When I told him about the research proposal he told me he got the grant under the outstanding institution about that area and agreed to be my SV. Sound interesting to start a new year when your research will be funded. However, the topic was slightly changed to suit the area. I have no problem with that and took the topic given to me. Nevertheless, I had some doubt when I was working with journals. The topic seemed not related at all with the previous topic as I could remembered my SV said it just a slightly changed. I couldn't find any links. I got that doubt but kept it to myself as I thought i might not have enough knowledge on the area and maybe I should read more and do more research. Then, I voiced my doubt to my friends and they said it was normal as they thought I was still couldn't understand the topic very well.
I worked hard on that topic until today I met him again. The first thing come out from my mouth was asking him politely to repeat the topic given. My doubt and instinct was absolutely right. I missed an important word in the topic that lead the wrong direction and I read the wrong literature reviews. Serve me right. I wasted a lot of time on that and it was totally useless. Well....of course have to do it again.
You might asked me why didn't I met him earlier to clarify my doubt? Ha3x. Do you know the syndrome of student vs SV?. Students are always afraid to ask a lot of questions or asking many times as they afraid might been said not working hard enough to understand the research. Me included. Again what else I can say... serve me right lah .
Moral of the story; malu bertanya sesat jalan

Dear Azuriy, Assalamua'laikum,
What you have prepared was just not suit to your SV's requirement. However, the literature review that you have prepared has nothing wrong with it. Just keep it in a safe place for you to use it later perhaps. I believe that, when preparing the so called 'wrong' literature review, you in the same time has mastered the content right?! which has up graded your knowledge in the area.
The real winner is the one who can make any negative to positive value. InsyaAllah all your hard working will always be rewarded with something highly valuable Sis.
Keep smiling Azuriy, I-lal-li-qa' was-sa-la-mah.
Sis, Chaiyok2!!!! Usaha tangga kejayaan
