Dirty & Dreams : Life Survival in Between

After the conference in Bengkulu, I had the opportunity to sleep overnight in J*karta and did the sightseeing the next morning before taking flight back home at that night (again flight was delayed almost 2 hours). In a day, i explored a city with 12 millions people if I'm not mistaken. I know it is unfair to judge based on one day experience but from what I observed the city is packed, jammed and the basic facilities is also an issue. On the other hand, the thing I amazed most of some people here were their hardwork, the competitiveness and spirit to survive. They do all kind of jobs for the life survival. I was told most of them came from other parts of the country with the dreams to change their lives. So I shall leave the pictures do the talking;

P/s The quality of the pictures are not really good, I think I need a new camera.

Assalamua'laikum, Dear Azuriy,

My experience observing life in Jakarta; For youngsters, its quite common to see them entertaining people in a public transport (especially town bus) and at restaurant by playing music instrument. Everytime before they perform, they told the people that they were doing that for meal and to survive for that day.

No wonder they would like to do anything to come to Malaysia for working.(Kita disini pun tak berapa kisah...dan saya teringat akan satu jenaka yg saya terbaca di internet; di USA bila seseorang menyeberangi sempadan illegally akan dipenjara dan dirotan, di Australia mereka akan diasingkan dan dihantar kenegara lain, di Myanmar mereka akan dipenjara seumur hidup, di afghanistan mereka akan ditembak, tetapi di Malaysia mereka akan dibuatkan IC dan diberi hak mengundi....Ha3x..funny right Sis?!

Keep smiling Sis, Ilalliqa' wassalamah

p/s; Nice mosque photos.
