A transit, A Presentation & An Experience

I just came back from Bengkulu. When I said I wanted to go to Bengkulu to present my paper a lot of friends asked why Bengkulu? Even me myself had a doubt when at that time there were news about the crashed of airplane and tremor in Bali (i know Bali is far away from Bengkulu). It was not like other trip which I always excited to go, this time was half heartedly. Not just because of the place but also I have low confidence on my paper.

I thought I had time to blog or doing my work during the transit in Sokearno Hatta Airport, but the condition in the airport didn't allow me. Time did permit me to do a lot of things and infact I had ample time since our flight was delayed from 6 hours transit to 8 hours transit. I had nothing to do. The airport was really crowded and people were buzzing around and very stuffy. I had to sit on the floor, sleepy and tired. On the top of that, Internet access was limited and I was out of idea to kill my time while waiting for the flight and it was really tiring. By the time of plane boarding I was utterly exhausted and care no more about other things.I slept all the way to Bengkulu. There was dinner welcoming us in the governor's hall which I supposed to attend but I missed it due the flight delay.

My presentation was on the next day. It was just Ok. What else I can say with my low level of confidence on my own paper. My 2 SVs were there too and put me in more uncomfortable situation. I was like pompuan melayu terakhir as my friend said and could not merapu or kelentong banyak2.

I didn't explore much of Bengkulu but in my obsrvation it is like Bandar Kuala Terengganu in 80s. There are few historical sites and beautiful beaches. Sometimes the beaches remind me of Dungun Terengganu. People whom I met here were very nice too and soft spoken. Maybe that is the beauty of Bengkulu. I didn't spend my rupiah here as not many things interest me and a lot of people said things in Jakarta are much cheaper. Here are some pictures I managed to capture in Bengkulu

Assalamua'alaikum, Dear Azuriy,

It was still a good experience for you right?
...I was hoping to see any photo of mosque of Bangkahulu..which you normally like to capture when you go somewhere. Do you have one?

Keep smiling Sis. Ilalliqa' wassalamah
